Topshop Creates Givenchy Runway Jewelry Lookalike

After a four months’ wait, Topshop has come out with a lookalike multi strand chain necklace (with trademark charms of course) to give with Givenchy’s fans with less of a budget than $2k something to claw for.  This piece isn’t gold (the metal isn’t even identified; we’re only given “metal fiber”), but at savings of $1,915 I suppose we shouldn’t complain too loudly.

OK, OK…I know I’ve already mentioned Hayden-Harnett once today, but I couldn’t let this one go.  I never really bring my glasses case with me for two reasons; they’re boring and they’re ugly.

HH offers a remedy to this with their their detailed Capri solid cases or 60s inspired prints.  All the change purse clasp detailing and are on sale at the moment for $14 each (there are 7 different solid/pattern choices in all).

Let’s Ditch The Forehead Band

Since nobody in their right mind should be taking fashion advice from former “actress” Mischa Barton, it is clear that such accessories as the forehead band.  This neo-hippie accessory attempt needs to be packed away tightly with moccasins that sounded like a good idea in 2007.

Let’s abolish the forehead band once and for all!

American Apparel Introduces The “Holdup” Suspender

We can add this to the “not manufactured yet flogged by American Apparel” pile.  For $16, you can get a pair of thin suspenders in a variety of colors.

Though you may have trouble finding eye-gouging neons in thrift stores, I would fully support buying your suspenders from there. If you can find the same, unbranded item at a shop like that for $4, then why would you bother with American Apparel?

Exciting news! Everyone’s favourite New York export has created an accessory line for Target.  The pieces will range from $19.99-49.99; a beautiful respite to their usual price points of $700!  Preview photos from the collection are shown below.

I am actually very impressed with these pieces; especially the clutches who have the built in change purse.  The multi colored umbrella also looks quite spunky.  I can’t wait to see these in-store.

The line will be available from December 28, 2008 through March 15, 2009.

Keep Warm With Trapper Hats This Winter

The modern trapper hat took its influence from the Russian ushanka, and still keeps its wearers as warm as ever.  Though you run the risk of looking a bit ridiculous if you top yourself with one of these before the weather gets genuinely nippy, you’ll be glad you have one when that time comes (especially because of those ear flaps!)

Having a lining of real fur does make a difference against your skin when the weather turn cold; somehow artificial fibers really do irritate, or at least I find they do.  The examples below are for men (left) and women (right) respectively.

Want Of The Day: Fingerless Leather Gloves From Topshop

Fingerless Leather Gloves From TopshopTopshop seems to have taken some hints from Chanel and Louis Vuitton’s SS09 collections and jumped onto the fingerless leather glove bandwagon.  Their interpretation of the gloves include perforation and knuckle punch detailing.

These are created using genuine leather, and sell for only $32!  They do come in two different color variations, though sadly are pastel blue and red hues which are a poor choice indeed for Fall dressing.

Come on, Topshop…bring on the rich jewel tone leather!
