Grab Yourself A Knit Cap, It’s Getting Colder Out

As the weather begins to slowly turn, things get a little chilly to walk around without appropriate head gear. I’m the biggest fan of the traditional men’s hat as anyone; but sometimes they just don’t do the best job of keeping your crown toasty.

I suggest a knit beanie, just like the one shown (Miu Miu, $120). It’s entirely impossible to avoid paying that much for one, but this is one piece where the spending ball is truly in your court. I found a rich marigold knit Diesel beanie in my local Value Village. Thrifting for hats is something some people are uncomfortable with; but as long as there’s a wash involved, there should be no real problem with cleanliness.

Chunky knit looks are quite refreshing; I stumbled across this dual colored one, which will go heavenly with my grey and orange knit gloves from Joe Fresh.

Do yourself a favor and avoid branded beanies like this, though. It’s tacky, and not fashionable whatsoever.

The hat is simple, but cute. Still think it a bit too much for a hat like this, I would knit it myself 🙂

@Ann: Great idea. If you’ve got the skills, use ’em!

Isn’t this blog from Canada? It’s not a beanie, it’s a toque or tuque!
